Open the windows! Sunshine and high in the mid-70's.
Today I'm washing maybe all the windows in the upper level of our (raised ranch) house and John is complaining about, I mean washing the dirty stored-in-the-laundry-room-for-the-winter screens. Then I am putting the clean screens in the windows for the summer. This may be the earliest yet for the season.
Also redecorating the blah blog, in case you're wondering. (Work in progress.) White space is like sunshine. Thoreau said, "Simplify, simplify, simplify." But wouldn't it have been simpler to say it once?
I made the banner (in Appleworks Drawing, heh). It sort of commemorates my deceased pet goldfish Ping. After vacation next week I'm going to get a new Ping at Wal-Mart.
What I saw this morning on my walk: beach wall graffiti.
Yeh, I was thinking a date with the Sun star was due. Yay for you!
And, we're getting an office 'Ping' this week. I think it'll be named 'Shavodka' or Shabourbon' depending upon the amount of male hormones present at the time.

"Thoreau said, 'Simplify, simplify, simplify.' But wouldn't it have been simpler to say it once?"
It's a mantra, a chant. A work-song (it's hard for most of us to do that as (much as) we should).
The more I look at that, the more I think that might actually be what Thoreau was thinking.

Marie, I hope you're into goldfish portraiture so we can meet the boozy little pet.
John, I think Thoreau just wanted to hit us over the head with his word hammer. Actually, I like your work-song theory. And it wouldn't be as affective to just write "Simplify."

This is a striking banner. The simplicity of it makes it beautiful.
My husband and I took trash bags on our morning walk this morning to join our town-wide spring-cleaning effort to pick up roadside trash. On coming home with full bags, wet feet, and very dirty hands, I realize finally that spring-cleaning one's own private space is great for the gusto and sense of accomplishment of spring cleaning. It's very satisfying. But cleaning up the public's mess makes me tired and sad about the human race. Ah, I've just written myself into a blog post!

I know what you mean. Roadside trash is depressing and irritating.

I like the new look, Amy!

Thanks, Ron. I've made a new, ridiculously long About page too.

Amy, in your About page you list one of your superhero powers as "Getting small children to fall asleep." You have no idea now much above-market-value I would pay you to work your magic on my two daughters!!! I'm convinced they're robots underneath their fleshy exterior.

Hm, I don't know if my bag of tricks would work with robots. :)

Ping? Extra geek points if you name your next one tracert.

Hm, it's not quite as ear-pleasing but I sure would like the geek points.
