Tufted

Tufted titmouse
Without the tuft, or crest, they'd just be chickadees. (Both species are members of the Paridae family.)
I imagine a crest is to a bird as eyebrows are to us: expressive, capable of indicating emotions like curiosity, surprise, anger, confusion, happiness, determination. But I don't know for sure.

The snrain has stopped and we're in for a bright and breezy day, high of 39 degrees. Maybe up to 45 tomorrow, before more snow Monday night.
John left at 4 a.m. for a three-and-a-half-day trip with layovers in Panama and Caracas. He got the sanding, patching and priming done in the bathroom so I can paint today.
I used to really like painting, especially with good brushes and rollers and good paint. I wonder if I've grown out of it. Laura says she wants to learn. Is it time to pass the torch?

I love tufted titmice. I remember giggling when my grandmother fist told me she spotted a titmouse out her window. Titillation and all. They are so cute.
